I am a huge proponent of defining your terms; even more so as the ungodly and carnal world dictates much of it’s meaning more and more as depravity becomes abundantly clear from our country’s leaders, national leaders and the pagan culture in which we live. Since 2020 the phrase “be safe” has come into existence almost daily as the world navigated the evil onset of COVID. Even still we hear the phrase far too much as if by our saying it, will cause the world and all that is in it, will suddenly keep you safe.
By The Grace of God we can define our terms according to why it needs to be said, what God says about “be safe”, and if there is some better dialogue to get God’s point across without sounding vague and pagan.
#1 Truth: There is NO safety apart from The Lord.
#2 Truth: Jesus said Do not assume that I have come to bring peace to the earth; I have not come to bring peace, but a sword. Matthew 10:34
What I have learned from God is that “In Christ Alone I am safe.”
Proverbs 18:10 The Name of The Lord is a Strong Tower; The Righteous run to it and are protected.
Proverbs 29:25 The Fear of mankind is a snare, but The One Who Trusts In The Lord is protected.
Psalms 4:8 I will both lie down and sleep In Peace, for You Alone Lord make me Live In Safety.
Psalms 91:1-2 He who dwells in The Secret Place of The Most High shall abide under The Shadow of The Almighty. I will say of The Lord, “He is my Refuge and my Fortress; my God In Him I will Trust.”
Psalms 121:5 The Lord is my Keeper; The Lord is my Shade at Your Right Hand.
Psalms 34:14 Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.
Romans 15:13 May The God of Hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust In Him, so taht you may overflow with Hope by The Power of The Holy Spirit.
There is a deceiver that wants to proclaim “peace and safety” that will indeed take many people down to destruction into the lake of fire. So as The Day draws near encourage one another with these words and Remember The Wisdom of God so that you are not tempted to travel down the path of the worlds “peace and safety”
1 Thessalonians 5:2-11
2 For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. 3 For when they say, “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape. 4 But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief. 5 You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness. 6 Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober. 7 For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk are drunk at night. 8 But let us who are of the day be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet the hope of salvation. 9 For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, 10 who died for us, that whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with Him.
11 Therefore comfort each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing.
So Fellow Brothers and Sisters I say to you by The Grace of God to The Glory of God: “Trust In The Lord and be safe.”
