The Wrath of God that we deserve Yet His Rejection toward His Perfect Son so that we, sinners, could be reconciled to God through Jesus Christ. What Amazing Grace and Unrelenting Mercy.
Isaiah 53 Who has believed what we have heard?
And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?
2 He grew up before him like a young plant
and like a root out of dry ground.
He didn’t have an impressive form
or majesty that we should look at him,
no appearance that we should desire him.
3 He was despised and rejected by men,
a man of suffering who knew what sickness was.
He was like someone people turned away from;
he was despised, and we didn’t value him. 4 Yet he himself bore our sicknesses,
and he carried our pains;
but we in turn regarded him stricken,
struck down by God, and afflicted.
5 But he was pierced because of our rebellion,
crushed because of our iniquities;
punishment for our peace was on him,
and we are healed by his wounds.
6 We all went astray like sheep;
we all have turned to our own way;
and the Lord has punished him
for the iniquity of us all.
7 He was oppressed and afflicted,
yet he did not open his mouth.
Like a lamb led to the slaughter
and like a sheep silent before her shearers,
he did not open his mouth.
8 He was taken away because of oppression and judgment;
and who considered his fate?
For he was cut off from the land of the living;
he was struck because of my people’s rebellion.
9 He was assigned a grave with the wicked,
but he was with a rich man at his death,
because he had done no violence
and had not spoken deceitfully.
10 Yet the Lord was pleased to crush him severely.
When you make him a guilt offering,
he will see his seed, he will prolong his days,
and by his hand, the Lord’s pleasure will be accomplished.
11 After his anguish,
he will see light and be satisfied.
By his knowledge,
my righteous servant will justify many,
and he will carry their iniquities.
12 Therefore I will give him the many as a portion,
and he will receive the mighty as spoil,
because he willingly submitted to death,
and was counted among the rebels;
yet he bore the sin of many
and interceded for the rebels.
We all start out as a child and knowing how to sin without effort. It is not something that is needed to be taught. It is the bent and fallen nature of every human being. The Grace of God that is available though is easily missed. Then over time come years and years of separation from God because of our sin and His holiness which keeps us from the Grace is that is so Amazing. Not only that, God’s Love is ferocious, but we doubt His Powerful and Perfect Love because our love is so limited and selfish. The more grace is not understood, the more callous and hard our heart becomes, literally unfeeling, dead. Whatever is your propensity to sin is, I can see how anyone could do anything. I joke with my sisters in Christ, how we feel like we are one step away from crazy, but then we are assured The Lord Jesus has His Reign over our life. If God left us without A Savior, we acknowledge that the gambit of our sins against God would be a plethora and the depths of sin would be incalculable. And then The One True God, Jehovah Jireh…My Provider. He Provided, The Savior, His Righteousness to clothe me so I could come to Him.
This gift of grace. He gives us this guilt! I remember for 33 years I did right in my own eyes, I lived the life Rachel felt like living, doing the things that seemed were okay to do in that moment. Then by God’s Divine Providence, I was in complete despair, By God’s Grace all of my heart, mind, soul and strength surrendered and all of me became burdened by the things I kept doing. The Lord awakened me to His Love, allowed my heart the ability to ‘feel’ the depths of His Love by removing my heart of stone and giving me a heart of flesh, He set my feet upon The Rock, I got up with Him and He said follow me. After that, my flesh still wanted to attempt the sins I had been committing. Before Christ awakened me I didn’t even realize they were sins because everyone was doing the same things. I was a sweet, kind, sinner not saved by Grace Alone, through Faith Alone, yet. Still, in my attempt to continue to reject God’s Love, I tried to keep walking in the flesh. And by God’s Grace it did not go well for me. By God’s Grace I finally felt guilt and shame and not just because the things were wrong but because it was against The One True Love, The Lord Jesus, His Intimate, Perfect and Personal Love towards me, a sinner. The Mighty Hand of God Injected Divine Faith into my body and I can’t help but Proclaim His Glory, His Goodness to all the earth, Amazing Grace.
Romans 5:1-11 Faith Triumphs and Those Declared Righteous are Reconciled
1 Therefore, since we have been declared righteous by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. 2 We have also obtained access through him by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. 3 And not only that, but we also rejoice in our afflictions, because we know that affliction produces endurance, 4 endurance produces proven character, and proven character produces hope. 5 This hope will not disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us. 6 For while we were still helpless, at the right time, Christ died for the ungodly. 7 For rarely will someone die for a just person—though for a good person perhaps someone might even dare to die. 8 But God proves his own love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 9 How much more then, since we have now been declared righteous by his blood, will we be saved through him from wrath. 10 For if, while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of his Son, then how much more, having been reconciled, will we be saved by his life. 11 And not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received this reconciliation.
Lord, let us bow down in humble surrender to this Life you have given. We know the enemies schemes to come and steal, kill and destroy but You Came so that we could have Life and have it abundantly, full of The Joy of The Lord. Lord, help us not to look back to sins that keep us from You but look up and receive mercy and grace in our time of need. We simply know our need. We simply know that You Alone are Holy, Holy, Holy. We thank you for Your Provision to Live and Love for All Eternity with You.
In Jesus Name, Amen.
