Dependence on God

Counter-culturally speaking we just weren’t created to be independent… look around, clearly people aren’t naturally good at making good decisions or choices. It’s not that some people are just better than others, because if released, we would all go off the deep end. Thank The Lord, He Reigns. Submitting in dependence to someone else is even more counterculture. But to whom we submit should make all the logical difference in the world. I know my way is not the highway or the end all be all (and neither is anyone else’s)… but to know, cling to, and trust God’s ways are perfect, to have gotten here is a miracle of The grace of God.

God ordained children to be born with parents (a mom and a dad) …why? Not to raise them to be independent but to understand their dependence on these ambassadors caring for them in hopes that WE will ultimately show them The One to Whom they are ultimately dependent on. If we miss this Amazing Grace, and push back against our dependence on God ourselves then we have shown our kids who they think rules their lives… ourselves- as opposed to an Almighty Perfect Holy God. Their lives will be their own little kingdoms and they are the ruler and why should we be surprised? It’s what we have naturally and subconsciously shown them. Yes our kids are watching…closely. and then we wonder why they rule their own little kingdoms. How’s that working out? Don’t miss the grace of God that desperately reveals our dependence on A Perfect Savior.

“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. John 15:5

I am the vine you are the branches apart from me you can nothing (because of pride and sin we so naturally come off the vine and instead of a branch we are like sticks). The delusion is that we can actually do something apart from The Vine.

I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength. Phil 4:13
We know these verses but do we live like it, do we really appropriate into our daily living and walk with Christ?

When your family watches you, do they see you yearning for wisdom, strength, comfort from God through prayer, through His Word.. or is your bible closed on the end table because you have all the answers?. When a question arises from a child, adult or yourself, how do you handle it? In humility, asking The Father for help or do you try to attempt to answer on your own?

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and knowledge of The Holy One is understanding. Prov 9:10

Woe to Those Relying on Egypt
Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help And rely on horses, And trust in chariots because they are many And in horsemen because they are very strong, But they do not look to the Holy One of Israel, nor seek the LORD! Yet He also is wise and will bring disaster And does not retract His words, But will arise against the house of evildoers And against the help of the workers of iniquity.… Isaiah 31:1-2

Phil 3:12-21.
