According to God’s Word, over and over He reveals
we have all betrayed The King of Glory.
Judas’ internal torture came because he could not repent of his sins and believe in Jesus. His desire was to remain in his guilt and condemnation, because of pride. His torture moved from internal to external. “Knowing better” and trusting our way always leads to death. Believing In Jesus Christ and His Fulfillment of the Law always leads to Eternal Life (Amazing Grace). He Is The Propitiation for our sins, He is Our Atonement, The Forgiveness of sins. Not one person is deserving of life. But because of His Grace to His people, He gives His Life In Christ. It’s all about Jesus.
John 6:56-58, 60-65
[56] He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood [believes in Me, accepts Me as Savior] remains in Me, and I [in the same way remain] in him. [57] Just as the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, even so the one who feeds on Me [believes in Me, accepts Me as Savior] will also live because of Me. [58] This is the Bread which came down out of heaven. It is not like [the manna that] our fathers ate and they [eventually] died; the one who eats this Bread [believes in Me, accepts Me as Savior] will live forever.”
[60] When many of His disciples heard this, they said, “This is a difficult and harsh and offensive statement. Who can [be expected to] listen to it?” [61] But Jesus, aware that His disciples were complaining about it, asked them, “Does this cause you to stumble and take offense? [62] What then [will you think] if you see the Son of Man ascending to [the realm] where He was before? [63] It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh conveys no benefit [it is of no account]. The words I have spoken to you are spirit and life [providing eternal life]. [64] But [still] there are some of you who do not believe and have faith.” For Jesus knew from the beginning who did not believe, and who would betray Him. [65] And He was saying, “This is the reason why I have told you that no one can come to Me unless it has been granted him [that is, unless he is enabled to do so] by the Father.”
Romans 8:1-8
[1] Therefore there is now no condemnation [no guilty verdict, no punishment] for those who are In Christ Jesus [who believe in Him as personal Lord and Savior]. [John 3:18] [2] For the law of the Spirit of life [which is] In Christ Jesus [the law of our new being] has set you free from the law of sin and of death. [3] For what the Law could not do [that is, overcome sin and remove its penalty, its power] being weakened by the flesh [man’s nature without the Holy Spirit], God did: He sent His own Son in the likeness of sinful man as an offering for sin. And He condemned sin in the flesh [subdued it and overcame it in the person of His own Son], [Lev 7:37] [4] so that the [righteous and just] requirement of the Law might be fulfilled in us who do not live our lives in the ways of the flesh [guided by worldliness and our sinful nature], but [live our lives] in the ways of the Spirit [guided by His power]. [5] For those who are living according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh [which gratify the body], but those who are living according to the Spirit, [set their minds on] the things of the Spirit [His will and purpose]. [6] Now the mind of the flesh is death [both now and forever—because it pursues sin]; but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace [the spiritual well-being that comes from walking with God—both now and forever]; [7] the mind of the flesh [with its sinful pursuits] is actively hostile to God. It does not submit itself to God’s law, since it cannot, [8] and those who are in the flesh [living a life that caters to sinful appetites and impulses] cannot please God.
