Reflecting back to when I just believed in God – Did just that belief bound me into eternity with my Heavenly Father? Then there are religious zealots who are always doing this and that, always performing acts of kindness and generosity. Anybody can do those things, so what is the difference?
Here’s a great analogy (Paul Washer)…. I walk up to the white house gate and of course the guard stops me. “Hey what do you want?” I say, “I want to go see the president” (guard looks at me awkward) “I know him, he will want to see me” (guard looks irritated and impatient) “Come on sir, I know him.” He irritatingly replies, “No way, can’t let you in”
Then the President walks out and sees me standing at the gate and says “Rachel, hey girl come on in, I was wondering if you’d come by” He says, to the guard “I know her, go ahead and bring her to me.”
There in lies the difference.
When Jesus sees you will He know you? Did you come to Him and share everything in life with Him – your hurts, joys, sorrows, griefs, sufferings or do you just assume He knows – is that where you leave it? You see, it’s hard to be broken and vulnerable in this harsh, angry, faithless world, so He knows and puts Himself with us so that we might be broken and vulnerable with Him. That we might know that He alone is Faithful. This is His greatest desire, above everything else – Loving Him with all your heart, mind, soul and strength. We are able by The Grace of All Graces – “I have been crucified with Christ, and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in The Son of God, Who loved me and gave Himself up for me. I do not set aside the grace of God. For if righteousness comes through the Law, Christ died for nothing.”… Galatians 2:20-21
Though God is Infinite and Wisdom, He knows All things about us, He wants us to make ourselves, our hiding, our suffering, our troubles, our temptations known to Him and this act is supernatural and comes by way of the cross. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wUiyu4TLjjg “Known”
His Word Promises Blessing when we come to Him…Hebrews 4:15-16 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who was tempted in every way that we are, yet was without sin. Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
Jeremiah 29:12-13 Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. You will seek Me and find Me when you search for me with all your heart. Jeremiah 33:3 Call to me and I will answer and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.
Does He know you? “Because not everyone who says to Me ‘Lord, Lord’ will enter the kingdom of Heaven, but he who does the will of My Father Who is in heaven will enter. Many, Many will say to me on that day ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your Name, and in Your Name perform many miracles.’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness.” Matthew 7:21-23
So Lord, I ask, plead, seek, abide, desire You to “Search me, O’ God, and know my heart; try me and know my anxious thoughts; and see if there be any hurtful way in me, and lead me in the everlasting Way.” Psalm 139:23-24
Lord, by Your Power in me, move me in Your Spirit of humility continually as not to reject Your Amazing Grace!
